“When I tell the truth, it is not for the sake of convincing those who do not know it, but for the sake of defending those that do.” — William Blake

Cory Morningstar is an independent investigative journalist, writer and environmental activist, focusing on global ecological collapse and political analysis of the non-profit industrial complex. Tenacious by nature, Cory Morningstar is a disciplined writer and activist. With artistic and intellectual tendencies, she lives and acts with little regard for conventional rules of behaviour. A minimalist and sensualist, she lives in a tiny lair engulfed flora and trees, espousing the Indigenous decolonial concept of “Buen Vivir”. Her vegetarian diet consists of coffee, mangoes, chocolate and sun. She craves constant mental stimulation as some crave cigarettes. This is not simply a substance she desires, rather it a substance she needs to exist. She draws inspiration and pride from her family lineage. Her great-grandfather was an African-American slave who came to Canada on the underground railway to fall in love with a white woman who would become her great-grandmother. Two of her children are of Algonquin of Pikwàkanagàn decent. Her concentration on the effects of the industrialized capitalist economic system stem from past travel in developing, war torn countries. This included gathering knowledge from the farmers who built the coffee fincas/co-operatives in Mirafloras, Nicaragua; gathering knowledge from the families confined to the sugar bateyes of the Dominican Republic who are trapped in very real modern day slavery; and gathering knowledge and inspiration observing the prowess of the children who live on the streets Siem Reap in Cambodia. She last visited anti-imperialist Bolivia in April of 2010, where she contributed to the People’s Agreement written in Cochabamba. Ms. Morningstar’s activism has been extensive. Prior to working on the People’s Agreement in Cochabamba, 2010, Ms. Morningstar, collaborated with Ms. Joan Russow, former Leader of the Canadian Green Party, in writing the document Time to be Bold which was one of the documents referred to in the creation of the People’s Agreement.

    Hi Cory

Just started reading this article, looks really good indeed. I am just finishing my PhD thesis on how the idea that two degrees is a dangerous limit is reproduced in public discourses, an act I understand as propaganda designed to legitimate industrial society. I will send you some stuff on this once have completed it and get some papers out of it.

  6. Dear Cory,

I got your message, read it, and agree with it. My above weblog is the 8th blog of my autobiography. I have got also 41 other weblogs, and I am very concerned about the global environment. I wrote about it and warned of the global deterioration beginning from 1998. It is all tied up to USA imperialism at the service of the huge transnational corporation. My above blog is about my anti-zionist politics, and zionism is the most brutal tool of USA imperialism on a global scale.

Please keep in touch directly via my email addresss, not via Facebook.

    Solidarity, Benjamin
